Ink&Iron Heroic Fantasy

Thomas Cole

Thomas Cole

Stone & Steel

on To

the Temple

of Hephaestus;

What Glory a Waits me,

Forlorn Son

of Past Noble Deeds.

OnWard

to the Treasures

Only I Could Steal,

Past Gorges & Ravines.

Through Withering Heights

I Followed This Dream,

Minerva’s Steed.

No Earthly Things Did I See,

Only Cold, HardShip & Depravity;

Till I Reached That Crystal

Cavern of Old.

The Lame God

was Depicted In Many Scenes,

the Love of Fire & Forge

& That

Which I did Seek;

His Crowning Achievement

the Star Sword;

Aphrodite’s Bane;

Aries’ Whore.

What I Wonder

Will Bar my Door

From This & More.

In Answer Blood was Spilt;

Mine.

For That Steel Clad Creature

Had None I Could Find.

Brazen Brass Bull,

my Blade

a Tiny Broken Thing.

Sharp Fingers Rend Flesh,

Curses Give Way to Screams

At the Test

of Metal Against Muscle.

Plunging the Pommel

Through One

of Its Fiery

Red Orbs;

Kicking Out with Both Feet.

Thrusting It & Much of me;

For the Talons Still Did Cling

to Pieces of me,

From the Shelf

Where we Did Battle.

In To the Fire

That Did Ring us In

Before a Bridge.

Where I Once Again

Took Up my Plight,

For I Saw No Way

It Could Survive

Or Climb the Black Night

That Had Swallowed

the Guardian

of the Crypt.
